These tactile signs and maps addressing the sense of touch provide visually impaired people with information and guidance. Although they are used with Braille characters, Latin alphabet characters and icons may also be raised. Floor plans, regional maps, handrail signs, WC\/elevator\/counter signs may also be prepared in this manner. This makes it possible for the visually impaired people to access information about all the units within a building so that they could move within the building without the help from others when this is supported by tactile ground surface indicators. Braille raised signs and maps are usually produced by photopolymer or acrylic materials, but there are also some different raw materials to use these signs and maps depending on where they are used.
